Shining in the spotlight

No more cold sweats when a reporter shows up at your door, or trembling when a microphone is suddenly shoved in your face. Instead, you’ll feel at ease and can count on the reporter’s appreciation. An effective media appearance enhances your organization’s reputation. That’s why media training isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.

Now also available: advanced media training.

During our customized media training, you’ll learn how to keep your message front and center while avoiding journalistic pitfalls. We’ll explain how to steer the conversation with the journalist in the direction you want. We’ll also practice both the content and delivery of your message.

Why media training?

Our media training is designed to give you the skills and confidence you need to communicate effectively with the media. Whether it’s interviews or other public appearances, we’ll make sure you’re prepared to convey your message clearly and convincingly.

With customized media training, you’ll be challenged to see yourself as a spokesperson: What are you doing well? Where are the opportunities and areas for improvement? What are the pitfalls you tend to fall into? You can only find the answers to these questions by practicing media appearances. We’ll give you the tools to come across as an expert and convey your core message clearly and powerfully. In short, with our media training, you’ll turn every media appearance into a triumph.

“A fun and, above all, great workout—one I’d definitely recommend!”

Marcel Steenhuis, Moneyou

What does media training involve?

During the media training, you’ll learn what to do when a journalist contacts you—for example, as a result of asuccessful strategic press policy. You’ll learn conversation techniques you can apply right away. We’ll also explain how to best prepare for an interview and how to conduct it effectively. This means we’ll practice different types of interviews. We’ll also focus on your demeanor. Finally, we’ll teach you to think about your message and your vision so that you can convey them naturally during an interview.

Who conducts the media training?

IVRM media training is always conducted by our senior consultants, who have a background in journalism. This ensures that you are fully prepared for any media appearance. Our trainers support prominent multinationals, healthcare organizations, companies, and NGOs in dealing with reputation-sensitive issues and crises. With years of experience and extensive knowledge of communication and presentation techniques, they provide you with the tools you need to make every media appearance a success.

Since every organization faces different challenges and has different needs, the cost of media training varies. The price generally depends on the number of participants and the complexity of the issues involved. The session requires at least half a day so that we can cover all aspects of serving as a spokesperson.
