The Value of Sports

Sports is more than just competition and entertainment; it has the power to drive social change. Yet this potential remains largely untapped. Sports clubs and associations struggle to become self-reliant. Sponsorship is often limited to visibility rather than impact. And sports is not sufficiently recognized as a solution to issues surrounding inclusion, health, and social cohesion.

On October 6, 2026, the Dutch Lottery, IVRM, and ALLsportsradio will therefore join forces for The National Sports Debate. This event, which will take place at Move Amsterdam (next to the Olympic Stadium), will bring together—by invitation—experts, policymakers, businesses, and sports organizations to explore how we can make the value of sports more visible. For society, and thus also for sponsors, the media, and sports itself.

What are we going to do?

Every year, we organize the National Sports Debate, which goes beyond simply discussing existing structures and focuses on concrete solutions. We bring speakers and participants together to develop ideas that transform sports from a passive experience into an active force for social progress. At the heart of this is the question: how can we make the social value of sports more visible?

Live broadcast on ALLsportsradio

The event will be broadcast live on ALLsportsradio, the Netherlands’ sports radio station. ALLsportsradio is a Dutch online radio station dedicated entirely to sports and an active lifestyle. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering a mix of non-stop music, sports updates, reports, and live programs on weekdays. ALLsportsradio covers both well-known and lesser-known sports, as well as recreational and elite sports.

If a meeting yields just one good idea, it was worth it.
